Scope of Work

Brand Identity

Two Poet Chocolates creates artisan chocolate truffles that are as beautiful as they are delicious, all made in-house by owner Ryan Flaherty. Their chocolate is sustainably sourced and they love using seasonal ingredients inspired by what they grow, harvest, or forage locally – whether that’s growing their own herbs to dry or preserve in extracts, or heading into the woods to forage things like wintergreen and shagbark hickory.

Design Notes

Striving for a lively and inviting feel, we opted for serif typography with some custom touches to give it that rough, organic feel, paired with a hand drawn illustration that includes a few of the plants Ryan loves to use in his truffles. The book on the bottom also represents a poetry journal as he is a writer and eventually hopes to expand into boxes that include art, writing, and letterpress with each order.

Design notes

Since Ryan grows and harvests many of the ingredients that are used in the truffles himself, it was important that a few of those plants were referenced in the logo. Landing on mint, raspberries, wintergreen, and a cocoa pod, it was essential that the plant references could be recognizable even when the logo was scaled down.
